Fertility Trail Mix

Nutrition can play a major role in supporting our fertility. And on the flip side of that coin, a lack of consistent nourishment can present roadblocks in our path to pregnancy. If we’re not prioritizing our own nourishment through our daily lifestyle habits, we’re not building a supportive environment for a potential pregnancy. In other words, if we’re not meeting our own nutrition needs on a regular basis, how can be have enough to go around to also support a growing baby?

If you’re looking for ways to support your fertility through nutrition, one of the keys is ensuring adequate mineral status. Chronic stress and under-eating can lead to the depletion of our mineral stores. In the long run, this can down-regulate our fertility because minerals are needed in order for our body to produce sex hormones.

This fertility trail mix is rich in minerals like zinc, selenium and magnesium thanks to the variety of nuts and seeds. Plus, the inclusion of goji berries provides a rich source of pholyphenols and antioxidants, which can help reduce inflammation and further support fertility.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/3 cup almonds
  • 1 cup goji berries
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2 cup shelled sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup cacao nibs
  • 1/2 cup walnut halves
  • 1/2 cup brazil nuts

Instructions
 

  • Combine ingredients together and store in an airtight container
